PANE is sponsoring a nature walk in the Middlesex Fells, a 2,200 acre forest located just north of Boston.. We will take a leisurely stroll on a lovely Saturday morning, through a nicely wooded area near a lake. Maybe we’ll catch glimpses of small forest creatures or hear the local birds sing.
Then, having exercised, we will reconvene at a nearby pub in downtown Winchester. It’s the sort of place that might remind alumni of an Eating Club or two.
You can find a detailed map of the Middlesex Fells (including elevations) here. Or, if you prefer a digital map, please check out Google or OpenStreetMaps.
We plan to meet at trail head for the Fells Road Path in Winchester, MA at 10am. Parking is readily available on nearby streets but please be considerate. You can find mass transit directions here. The Winchester Center commuter rail stop is one mile from the trail head. The trailhead begins near 56 Hillcrest Parkway in Winchester (latitude/longitude 42.458366,-71.1197523).
