HOLIDAY CARDS FOR SENIORS
We’re thrilled to announce the 6th annual Holiday Cards for Seniors campaign. PANE is seeking Tiger volunteers to send holiday cards to formerly homeless and some currently homeless seniors in the Boston area to provide these folks with some warm holiday spirit. Our collaboration continues this season with Hearth Inc., a non-profit working to end elder homelessness through housing placement. We’d like every senior in Hearth’s permanent housing or within their homeless client outreach to receive a card – so that’s up to 300 cards. Please join us in spreading a big dose of holiday cheer! Since 2020, PANE has sent hundreds of cards to these deserving seniors – let’s keep the fantastic effort going!
Instructions are below & please RSVP to the email listed. We’d love your photos to share on our social media - photo details are included below.
Thank you so much for giving of your time and making the holidays for these seniors as special as possible!

2025 HOLIDAY CARDS FOR SENIORS DETAILS:
-
Deadline: Please **postmark cards by Friday Dec. 12, 2025** if not before because Hearth would like to distribute them early in the season.
-
RSVP: Please RSVP with the subject “PANE Holiday Cards for Seniors” and share how many cards you’ve sent so we have a count to: princeton.alums.newengland@gmail.com. This is important for us to track how many more cards we need.
-
Number of cards: 3-5 if possible and more if you can!
-
Hearth has 200 residents and 300 clients (people still currently homeless), so our goal is to send 200-300 total cards.
-
-
Type of cards: Please send non-denominational/non-religious holiday cards so they can work for all residents. Cards about the winter season are great as well as non-religious holiday cards.
-
Salutation inside card: “Dear Friend” or “Dear Neighbor” are great terms to use and please sign the cards however you’d like.
-
Please avoid references to “home” or “housing” since extra cards may be given to clients who are still unhoused in addition to Hearth’s residents.
-
-
Languages: The majority are needed in English, but if anyone’s able to send a few cards in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Russian, those would also be appreciated and please note in your RSVP email if they’re in another language.
-
PANE in Return address: Please add “(PANE)” in your return address after your name on your envelope so Hearth can help us track the number of total cards.
-
Photos: We’d love to get photos of your cards for PANE and Hearth’s social media! Please email photos you’d like to share in the same RSVP email with the word “photo” added as “PANE Holiday Cards for Seniors: photos.” If anyone holds get-togethers to write cards, Hearth would love photos of those activities to post a thank you for the efforts.
-
Mailing address for cards: Bulk sets of cards mailed in one larger envelope with the individual envelopes left blank are preferred since they are easier to sort, but individual cards are fine if bulk mailing isn’t possible. Please mail cards to:
