Join bird walk expert Mari Badger for a “peak migration” bird walk at Millenium Park in Boston/Dedham/West Roxbury where we’ll look—and listen—for migrating warblers and other songbirds. The park used to be a landfill hill, but is now an important urban green space with six miles of handicapped-accessible walking trails, playing fields, a canoe launch on the Charles, a nature trail, and views of the Blue Hills and downtown Boston. We will try to limit the group to 15-18 people, please RSVP below.
Please note: the trail can be muddy and hilly in spots. Expect leashed dogs. We will be walking about 2.25 miles around the mostly flatlower perimeter unless we get word of a cool bird on the hill.
Beginners welcome! Loaner binoculars available on request. Beginners are also encouraged to download the free Merlin app.Questions: mari@bostonbirdingfestival.org
If you’re interested in catching the re-dawn chorus, please email Mari in advance and we’ll form a sub group to arrive at, well, pre dawn. (mari@bostonbirdingfestival.org).
