A Time To Reflect: The What If's Of Presidential Elections

Most political pundits predicted that the 2024 presidential election would be extremely close and few could predict what would happen until the final polls closed.  Since 1992, only one presidential candidate, Barack Obama in 2008, has received more than 52% of the popular vote. This presentation will analyze some of our recent past elections and ponder our future elections.
 
Kevin R. Loughlin M.D. is a member of the Princeton class of 1971 and a retired urologic surgeon and is a professor emeritus at Harvard Medical School. He is the editor-in-chief of Urologic Clinics of North America and serves on the editorial boards of several other urologic journals. He has published over 300 articles in the peer-reviewed medical literature. He has had a lifelong interest in history and current events and has published letters to the editor in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and New England Journal of Medicine on a variety of topics.
 
Moderating will be Kendra Gahagan '93, a documentary producer and former news journalist with ABC and NBC News where she covered three presidential elections.  She was the traveling field producer on the John Edwards presidential campaign and George Stephanopoulos' producer for the never-ending election night coverage in 2000.
