Middlesex Fells Nature Walk/Forest Foraging Talk

Saturday May 11. 2019

10am- 2pm

free

PANE is sponsoring a nature walk in the Middlesex Fells, a 2,500 acre forest located just north of Boston off I93N. We plan to stroll, forage and possibly strike a few yoga poses. Then we will cap off the day's hike with an (optional) trip to a local pub, the Night Shift Brewery in Everett.

You will find a detailed map of the Middlesex Fells (including elevations) here, courtesy of the Friends of the Middlesex Fells. Or, if you prefer a digital map, you are welcome to use the location-enabled online maps from Google or OpenStreetMaps during the trip.

We plan to meet at trail head for the Fells Road Path in Winchester, MA at 10am sharp. You can find mass transit directions here. The Winchester Center commuter rail stop is one mile from the trail head. The trailhead begins near 56 Hillcrest Parkway in Winchester (at latitude/longitude 42.458366,-71.1197523).

It is recommended to bring a bottle of water and wear appropriate foot gear. Please use standard protections against ticks as you would in any wooded wilderness area, i.e. long pants, long sleeves and insect repellant.

This is a free, PANE-sponsored event. No tickets necessary. All are welcome.
